I have been teaching for over 20 years and in a variety of schools on the Isle of Man and Cambridgeshire, as both Curriculum and Pastoral leader.
I currently teach Business and Criminology. I have developed the International School program into the school curriculum and helped Nailsea school gain the International School award.
After responsibilities in these areas I chose the pastoral direction as I firmly believe pastoral care has taken on a more inclusive function, linking with both teaching and learning whilst- promoting students’ personal and social development.
I look forward to seeing Griffin Students grow in confidence and believe they can aspire to become young caring global citizens in this ever-changing community.
From September 2020Griffin Head of House will be Mrs N Wells
I have been a member of staff here at Nailsea School for 14 Years.
In that time I have held many roles before becoming a Head of House in September 2018.
My background is in youth work and I try to bring the cornerstones of that in to my way of working: Empowerment, Participation, Education and Equality of Opportunity.
Nailsea School is a great place to work, and I really do think that we focus on the whole student, not just academic ability.
I am very proud to be both Head of Dragon House (The Green Team) and to be part of the Nailsea School family.
My name is Mr Graffagnino and I am the Head of Phoenix House.
My aspiration is for all students in my House and for all students in my House to have high aspirations. I aim to do this by inspiring students to be the best they can be.
I have formed strong relationships with parents and students at Nailsea School and I believe I lead by example in being positive and working hard to get the most out of each and every opportunity. I wish to celebrate effort, success and achievement at all levels and across all areas of the School and ensure no student goes unnoticed.
In my time as Head of House, I have seen the fantastic work our Phoenix tutors do and we are privileged to have such dedicated and professional members of staff.
Please keep me and your tutors informed of your successes both in and out of School so they can be celebrated within a collaborative community that is Phoenix House.
From September 2020Phoenix Head of House will be Mrs S Wisby
I joined Nailsea School as an English Teacher in September of 2014 and was appointed as Head of Unicorn House in 2018.
I love working Nailsea School because I truly feel that it is an inclusive and nurturing environment, which equips students with the skills and experiences needed for a bright future.
My goal is for Unicorn House to be a kind and caring house, where all students feel valued and welcome.
Our aim is to nurture each other’s aspirations so that we can all succeed.
From September 2020Unicorn Head of House will be Mr J Howard
