Year 8 students took part in a record-breaking live cooking lesson from Jamie Oliver on 16 May. Held by Jamie as part of his Food Revolution Day, thousands of schools from over 121 countries learnt to make a tasty, nutritious Rainbow Salad Wraps. Local greengrocer Burchills kindly donated vegetables and herbs, and students worked in teams to follow the online lesson.
They grated their cabbage, carrots, beetroot and pears and then prepared and mixed a delicious salad dressing before building their wraps and adding feta cheese. For some of the students if was their first time trying new vegetables and feta cheese which some said was an acquired taste! By the end of the lesson, they were already imagining their own wraps with their favourite fruits and vegetables.
