Written Work

Listening and analysing based on recorded extracts of music

Practical Work

Recording sequencing and producing:

  • Students produce
  • 3-4 minute close-mic multi-track recording
  • sequenced backing track of a song in any style
  • a studio recording using the sequenced backing track
     

Composing with technology:

  • Students produce
  • free composition using music technology
  • a second composition based on a brief set by Edexcel

Written Work

  • Interpreting data, analysing and discriminating, controlling and editing data
  • Music in context – written paper based on recorded extracts of music
