Introduction

Within the Geography Department there is an emphasis on student-centred learning. Pupils carry out various practical activities within the classroom to assist and enhance their learning. The Department actively supports and contributes to the School’s numeracy and literacy programmes. At Key Stage 4 pupils travel to undertake fieldwork at Sand Bay for part of their GCSE coursework. Students opting for Geography at AS level travel to Orielton in Pembrokeshire for a residential week undertaking Geography fieldwork on a range of topics to support the course and spend 2 days gathering data for their environmental investigation coursework.
