Chemistry is the central science – the link between the physical world and the biological one. At Key Stage 3 and 4 the curriculum concentrates on the substances around us and tries to provide an understanding of the way they behave as they do. An understanding of natural materials leads on to the ways in which we can exploit and develop chemicals for the benefit of society.
