Students : Curriculum : Humanities : Geography
Key Stage 5
Students opting to study Geography will begin by undertaking AS
level Geography in Year 12. They will then have the option to study A Level (A2)
Geography in Year 13.
During year 12 units 1, 2 and 3 are completed and may be
submitted for AS certification or carried forward to the A2 in year 13 for the
full ‘A’ level certification.

- Unit 5 - Researching global futures
A. Living with hazardous environments.
(Exam; 1.3 hours timed essay from pre-released generalisation = 7.5%)
B. Development and disparity.
(Coursework report from list of given titles = 7.5%)
- Unit 6 - Synoptic Unit
(Exam, 2 hours = 20%)
Analysis of combined physical, human and environmental issues from units1, 2
and 4 involving problem solving and decision-making skills. Pre-release resources.
