Parents : Support & Guidance

The role of the parent is one of the most significant factors in determining the success and development of students.  A child’s ability to progress is directly influenced by its parents and at Nailsea School we see the need to work in partnership with all parents, to ensure our students are given the opportunities they need to exceed in their goals and realise their potential.

We strive to ensure parents are kept informed of what is going on within the School.  In addition to Parents’ Evenings we send out a termly newsletter.  There are also various opportunities throughout the year for Parents to come into School and view student work, share in their achievements and talk informally with staff.  The Student Planner is also a way of communicating with your child’s teacher using the space provided for comment.

Our Parent Support Advisors offer support and guidance to parents in many aspects of school life from help finding the information you need, to exploring solutions to any problems, worries or frustrations you may have with your child’s experiences at School.

For general information about the school, you can download our A-Z booklet here.

If you are concerned or need to speak to staff about your child please contact the relevant Tutor first.  If your question is subject specific then please ask for the Subject Head initially or alternatively you could contact the Head of House where appropriate.

If you wish to contact someone at School please ring the school reception initially as they will be able to advise you on the availability of members of staff.
