Parents : Support & Guidance : Gifted & Talented

The following school policy for Gifted and Talented Provision has been recently revised, in consultation with various members of our school community.  For the full policy please click here...

Rationale:

Nailsea School aims to meet the educational needs of all its students, to ensure that all students develop their gifts and talents to the best of their ability. Experience and research has shown that students achieve much more when there is strong awareness of their individual gifts, talents and potential, and when their needs as individuals are specifically catered for.  Moreover, research also suggests that extending the learning and achievements of the top 5-10% of students has a beneficial impact on standards overall.

Purpose:

To define relevant terms

To describe the school’s approach to the leadership and management of this issue

To set out the procedures by which the school identifies, supports and celebrates its gifted and talented students

To develop further a school ethos which values its students’ gifts and talents and in which these students can thrive.

Review:

This policy will be reviewed every year and is the responsibility of the designated senior leader and school governor.
