    • Year 9's Award-Winning Animation

      During Term 3, Year 8 and 9 Geography students took part in the North Somerset and Bristol Schools Earthcast Competition. Students had to make a  two and half minute film explaining a geographical concept, issue or topic, which make effective use of media as well as demonstrating good geographical understanding. The top three groups were put forward to the regional final, and had the opportunity of seeing their films on the big screen at the Curzon Cinema. Congratulations to the winners Alice, Laura, Molly, Hannah and Ellie who won the prize for the best animation, for their volcano presentation now featured on a DVD which is being distributed to local schools as a revision aid.     • Nailsea Students Support 'Cots for Tots'

      On 25th April Nailsea School students wore pyjamas and non-uniform for the day raising a total of £895 for the ‘Cots for Tots’ Appeal. The Appeal is raising £1 million to provide 4 life-saving cots and a new intensive care suite  at the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol, and a Family Accommodation Suite close by. 

      Students also held a cake sale, with 6th Form students Danielle Marks, Sammy Roche and Aimee Stokes baking 200 cupcakes, brownies and flapjacks to sell to students and staff. Special mention must also go to teachers Miss Moretti, Mr Smith, Miss Currie, Miss Wild and Miss Thomas who braved the torrential rain to have wet sponges thrown at them by students.
