Strategic Future of Nailsea School—A Message from the Governors
In 2017, I wrote explaining that the school was exploring its options in relation to whether or not it was in the best interests of Nailsea School to join a Multi Academy Trust (MAT) called the Inspirational Futures Trust (IFT).
Having sought questions and comments from parents and staff and undertaken a significant review of the needs of Nailsea School, the Governing Body has unanimously taken the decision not to proceed at this time with further investigations into joining or forming a MAT at this current time.
The Governing Body would like to reassure you that we will continue to explore all options available to Nailsea School, and should we decide at some point in the future to develop new opportunities, we will approach this with the same level of scrutiny, analysis and challenge to ensure any decision is in the best interests of Nailsea School.
It remains the Governing Body’s primary focus to ensure any decisions made in respect of the school are done so in the best interests of the pupils, the staff and the community as a whole. Nailsea School has had a tremendous year and is looking forward to next academic year and all that it will bring.
To improve our communications with you, and in response to the recent Parent Survey, the Governing Body will provide updates of our work with Mrs Elliott and the staff of Nailsea School in the termly newsletters throughout the year. We also attend every Parent Fora and will be happy to discuss any issues with you at these events.
If you have any comments or concerns in relation to this, please do send them to our Clerk of Governors, firstname.lastname@example.org.
Dr Julie Cayzer
Chair of Governors at Nailsea School
