Textiles

In this course students are taught to be creative and innovative when designing, and to understand the role that designers and product developers have, and the impact and responsibility they have on and to society.

They will generate design proposals against stated design criteria, and modify their proposals in light of ongoing analysis, evaluation and product development. There is one major controlled assessment task to investigate, either in the area of fashion, interiors or costume design.

Students work with the latest industry software and ICT technologies, including CAD CAM, Patternmaker, Laser Cutter, Heat Transfer and Smart Materials, learning to develop individual and unique design, as well as sharing ideas and working collaboratively as a team.
