Catering

Year 7

Students will enjoy various activities including learning how to carry out good hygiene and safety within a food room, how to use specialist equipment safely, including an oven, how to weigh and measure correctly and understanding the importance of a healthy diet.  Students will develop a range of practical skill and have the opportunity to make Fruit Fusion, croque monsieur, soups, fruity muffins, crumble, fruity flapjack and scones!

Year 8

Students continue to develop theory and practical skills from year 7 with a focus on International foods. Practical skills are based around pastry making, meat preparation, sauce making, dough products and cake making.

Year 9

Students continue to develop theory and practical skills from year 7 / 8 with a focus on creating an International three course meal and a celebration cake. Practical skills are based around handling high risk roods, making a variety of dishes within a set time challenge and cake making.
