Olympic Fortnight

Olympic Fortnight took place in the middle of May.  A variety of activities were on offer and subjects took the opportunity to base their learning around an Olympics theme.  The enjoyment of Year 7 students was clear from quotes like "I though the Olympics was just about sports" and when asked why we were running this fortnight one student replied "so that we can get different perspectives on the Olympics from different subjects".

As part of the fortnight of Olympic themed lessons for students, Olympic Rower Peter Gardener visited the school. He gave an interesting talk to students explaining how he began participating in the sport, and his Olympic experience in Athens.  He also answered students questions and encouraged them to aim high in their sporting achievements.
