On Wednesday 12th March, Year 10 GCSE and BTEC Media students took part in a competition run by The Guardian newspaper to create a newspaper and podcast in a day. Students were organised into teams (Home News, International News, School News, Local News, Features, Entertainment, Sport, Advertising, Editorial) for the day, and had to carry out research, interview teachers, students and members of the public for stories, write articles and design pages for a newspaper that they decided to name 'The Innovator'. 

Students worked diligently throughout the day and it was delightful to see them all engaged and interested. Students have commented that they enjoyed the day so much they would like to do it all over again!
