Highest Results Since 2009

Students at Nailsea School are celebrating another year of superb A’ level and GCSE results, which continue to improve annually.

At A level the number of top grades were up with a

quarter of A* or A grades being awarded, which is a great achievement for the students.

This year’s huge change in the GCSE examination system was deliberately designed to be tougher, but Nailsea School has bucked the trend and has continued to score well.

This year it saw 74% of its students scoring 4+ in the core subjects of English and Maths a significant milestone for Nailsea School to have achieved.

Nailsea School has had a fourth successive yearly increase in the core GCSE subject measure, a 10% improvement on 2016 which is a phenomenal growth.

Headteacher Mrs Elliott said

”We work hard at Nailsea to raise the aspirations and self-belief of all of our students so that they feel they can push themselves to do better than they think is possible.

Today has demonstrated that this is the case. I am thrilled that the hard work of staff and students and the support of parents has culminated in these results today.”

Following on from such great results, students have been able to secure places on highly competitive courses at the most sought after institutions.  School President Josh Hayler, Laura Packham and Alice Vaughan-Williams are all off to the University of Oxford to study Music, Spanish and Linguistics and Maths respectively.
